ABOUT

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Sophia developed a deep love and curiosity for the natural world from a young age, spending countless summers exploring her backyard and wondering what else was out there. After moving to Miami, Florida to study Marine Biology, she graduated from the University of Miami with dual degrees in Marine Biology & Ecology and Theatre Arts. Her love of the arts, color, culture, and the natural world gives her a unique lens for life, whether through her camera or her work as a marine scientist.

Sophia recently completed a Master of Science in Marine Biology at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, and has spent the last several years living and working across four continents — from the rocky reefs of the Galápagos and the mangrove forests of Queensland to the intertidal zones and coral reefs of Thailand. Her camera has come along for all of it, driven by an insatiable curiosity for what lies just beyond the next reef, the next coastline, and the next adventure.
